Quick report
The storm Friday and Saturday dumped a lot of snow, It was 5-8" deep by 4000'. The new snow was at least 2' deep above 5000', but it was wind scoured and drifted. High winds (gusts to 45 mph) mid out of the NE transported a lot of snow until mid morning when the snow warmed and the winds dropped to 10-20 mph. By afternoon, snow below 5800 was almost gone and it was completely gone below the tree line. In the early morning hours there were some firm winds slabs up to 4" thick weakly bonded to cold soft snow below, but it was all wet and soft by afternoon. I saw no avalanche activity other than some shallow sluffs on steep slopes above 6000' that probably ran Saturday. I avoided steep wind loaded slopes baking in the afternoon sun, but there were no signs of trouble. The rim cornice grew a lot in this storm. The glide cracks were filled with new snow.
