Quick report

Intended to ski the Slot today but tough travel conditions below 4000ft really slowed things down. The snow transitioned to softer, lighter and almost wintery by 4500. No signs of instability. The trees were rapidly shedding snow and the skin track was producing large roller balls by 11AM. I decided to turn around at Thunder Creek rather than risk coming out even later in the day. The first few turns were nice but the snow quickly became thick and sticky even in shaded terrain. By 3800 I removed my skis and down climbed rather than risking hitting more thinly covered rocks, logs, and roots.
