Quick report
One or both of us have toured around the Boulder Mtn area the last 3 days, so we've seen the conditions change--wind, new snow, more wind, and today, clearing and settling. Today was cold and sunny all day. We toured out to Malony Lake via Boulder Mtn. We did not observe any obvious signs of instability or red flags. We skied E, NE, and N aspects throughout the day. Signs of wind loading were minimal and ski cuts did not yield any results. Loose dry/sluffing was minimal throughout the day. Settlement cones around trees were present throughout our travels. Over the past few days of skiing, our confidence in the stability of the snowpack in this area has increased and we have felt comfortable stepping into steeper terrain. We probed in a sheltered area on an E/NE slope at 8,000' and found HS 245cm.
