Quick report
Quick pit at 6700'. Were surprised to find 120cms of snow. We skied on first hard snow that gradually became 4 finger and then 1 finger. Down ~90cms there was a crust with softer 4 finger snow beneath, then back to 1 finger all the way to the ground. We poked and prodded at ground level looking for rotten or sugary snow and found nothing of note. (Photo shows where we removed and examined snow at the ground) As for skiing... we stuck to shaded terrain above 6300. Warming on Tuesday lead to a thin crust on almost anything under 5900. Minor wind effect was observed under large cliffs running E-W and a mixture of scouring and loading was present in N facing terrain near Ridgeline above 7k where snow became more variable. There were light but cold ridge top winds from the North. Solar aspects are variable at best with pockets of soft snow mixed with untrustworthy crusts around noon. Coverage comes and goes and entrances and exits below 6k were certainly the biggest hazards of our day. Widespread surface hoar
