While skiing down the north ridge of Murdock, I was able to trigger this avalanche by turning along the ridge close to where the angle steepens to the north. I stayed on the ridge itself which is not all that steep. This avalanche was all new, wind drifted snow and it failed on the melt-freeze crust from prior warm weather.
