Quick report

We felt pretty comfrortable moving in the Basin. OInce it heated up small rollars turned into wet loose avalanches. The Near Surface Faceting is a big piece of note. Currently not an issue but with potential storms in the next week any slabs formed on top of this could be a big problem.

We saw some small wet loose slides as the day went on on solar aspect. Main thing of note was the Near Surface Faceting that was widespread above the Canwell Glacier. While not an issue now new snow on top of this thin weak layer could cause major problems

Snowpack

The top 20cm of snow is fairly soft with the Near surface faceting widespread on top. Below the softer snow (in wind protected areas) there is a mostly consolidated snowpack. Right side up with a melt/freeze crust layer below the soft snow.
