Quick report

Classic challenging cascade springtime approach. Low elevations are melting out very fast. Starting seeing a skiff of new snow at about 4,800’ and 4”-6” from about 5,700’- the summit at 6,700’. The summit block had a very firm base but it skied real nice if you avoided the scoured spots. The exit was an interesting mixture of sticky and terrible and icy and terrible depending on shade/ tree coverage.

Saw some older wet slides on the way up up to d2 in size. My guess is that they likely ran during the rain event or in the ensuing warm days. No photos of these ones… From the top of Jim hill looking south I spied a D3 with a large debris pile off of a north facing aspect. Photo is attached.
