Quick report
Upon entering Huntington Ravine, made note that most of the fan and run outs of each eastern facing gully appeared to have a scoured surface. Observed smooth, untextured snow half way up Yale Gully.Travel across the runout of Yale Gully proved the snowpack to be stable and more firm than the eye led on. Travel along the snow surface was variable due to solar and wind effects. Avalanche conditions were in alignment with today’s forecast. Observed snowpack was stable. No cracking, or avalanches were observed.

Winds were light and traveling West. Cloud cover was sparse.
Snowpack
On east and south aspects, surfaces were variable. Observed a 2 inch crust (K) in areas exposed to the wind, which was well adhered to the snowpack below (K). Found pockets of pencil hard snow in wind sheltered areas which seemed to be more affected by the sun. Penetration through snowpack ranged from 0.5 inches to 3 inches. All snowpack observed was stable. The surface of the snow was a bit sticky in areas where penetration reached 3 inches.
