There was debris from several large (D1 and D2) cornice-triggered slabs at 4500-5500' on east and southeast aspects, but they are likley to be more than a day old. They did make me feel very good about deciding to stay on the ridges and turn around at 5,000' last Sunday in the fog after these slopes had been hit by several hours of heavy rain. n the early morning hours, my crampons barely left a scratch between the treeline and summit (with 1/2" or more of clear hard ice above 7300''), but warm temps, sunshine, and light winds caused major melting above the treeline all the way to the summit. By mid-afternoon, boots sank 2-3 inches above 7000', then 6-10 inches from 6000-7000', and 10 to 20 inches from 6000 down to the treeline (4400'). Below the treeline, even in the sun, the snow stayed hard all day.
