Quick report

Light snow and swirling winds from 1-4pm. • Stout wind-rain crust on all aspects all thr way up• 2-4inches of new snow on S,E aspects, 6-8 inches of new/windblown on N aspects above crust• Dropped two fridge size cornices on a 38° SE aspect, nothing realized below crust• Dug a pit at 7,800 ft on a N aspect in an area that received windloading, ECTn 18 on windslab/old snow, ECTn 24 immediately below wind/rain crust. Neither would fracture further than the shovel blade when finishing out taps• Ski cut our line twice, removed much of the new snow, and felt confident in our terrain selection ● When skinning out, E aspects had a nearly unbreakable crust that was easy to slip off●

Avalanche

Observed many sluff avalanches on N, NE aspects around cliff bands, our sluff slowly gathered more sluff in open areas.
