I observed generally good stability while traveling in the Rattlesnake near Point 6 today. I dug two snow pits, one on a northwest aspect and the other on a southwest aspect. I did not find a facet layer below the recent snow in either pit. I did not observe any signs of instability other than some isolated and stubborn cracking in wind lips and drifts at ridgeline.
Observed isolated stubborn cracking in east facing wind lips and drifts along upper elevation ridgelines. Any associated wind slab would likely be small. Older, harder wind slabs felt unreactive.Weather

It was a relatively warm day with off and on light to moderate snow showers. Winds were light out of the southwest. The rain line was hovering around the base of Snowbowl in the afternoon (~5000 ft).
Snowpack
I dug two snowpits today. One was on a southwest aspect at 7400 ft near the Little Alaska ridgeline, and the other on a northwest aspect at 6900 ft in Tele Meadows. Both pits had around 10 cm of new snow since Sunday and around 50 cm of total recent snow resting on a stout crust from the late January/early february warm up. Neither pit produced any results in extended column tests, and neither had the suspect facet layer above the stout crust. Below the stout crust, the southwest pit had more stout crusts and lacked deeper weak layers. In the northwest pit, there were still weak, rounding facets and depth hoar near the ground.
