Quick report

Lots of snow, very windy. We didn’t see any signs of instability. We stayed in the trees and tried to shelter from the wind. Snow pack was varied and a bit all over the place. A lot of wind, some noticeably more dense snow based on skiing. Drifts, pockets of wind slab, and other variations in snow density and depth were noticeable. Travel at least to swift creek area was pretty good/easy besides the expected breaking trail in lots of new snow. Our skiing was quite nice on - for the pnw - decent snow. We did dig into the snow pack. The rain crust was significantly deeper than we expected. I don’t have exact numbers but it was at least 1.5m deep where we were. Overall, a great day out.
