AAS fundamentals class with 24 students. All groups observed significant collapses throughout the flats around the Independence Mine parking area. We recorded two CTV Q1 shears and one CT2 Q1 shear. All test results were sudden collapses. We stuck to low angle terrain out of avalanche runouts. Overall impression is that snowpack stability is poor.
