Quick report

Today's groups went to investigate the distribution of wind slabs and to check the moisture content of the snow underneath the melt freeze crust. We found several isolated reactive pockets of wind slab on eastern to northeastern aspects between 3200-3700 '. Propagation didn't extend past 2 feet on test slopes. The snow underneath the melt freeze crusts was dry except for some slightly moist on a steep southernly underneath a 5-8cm crust at 3700'. In the parking lot at 11:30 skies were scattered with a light breeze coming from the south. By 13:30 skies were overcast and winds shifted NNW with moderate gusts by 14:30. Ski quality was variable and poor.
