Quick report

Made it up to only 3,123' (according to Strava) before turning around: - The wind direction alas was aligning perfectly with the Cog line, rendering the gusts so powerful (as well as unpleasant) that I periodically had to stop skinning and brace myself. - That also meant that perhaps only 10% of my turns were on the fresh snow, and everything else was entirely scoured with no traces at all of the recent snowfall. (Fortunately the wind played to my advantage across the highway at Bretton Woods, where wind holds on the lifts serving the upper few hundred feet meant that much of the terrain for lift riders was either unreachable or arduously reachable via long traverses, leaving nice powder for me after my Cog ordeal!)
