Cannon mountain, base / approach to Black Dike

We were going to climb the Black Dike, my partner started walking across the snow from the bottom right of the apron, which was up and left of up. He triggered an avalanche and was caught and carried about 300 feet down snow-covered talus. Had multiple injuries, but was able to walk, was wearing a helmet, no head injury. Self evacuation.
