Photo of natural glide avalanche that looks pretty fresh. West facing, 8000' elevation. From Google Earth, the summer ground cover here looks like steep, smooth terrain with little vegetation. It appears that small sections of this glide avalanche released and slid down the slope, but the main part of the slab appears to have stayed in place.
Evidence of natural avalanche cycle during the last storm. Photos show typical debris piles on South and West aspects. These slides are visible from North Ogden between Ben Lomond Peak and the North Ogden Divide. One interesting slide's path looks like it curved slightly and jumped off a cliff. The largest slide may have run more than 2,000 vertical feet.
