Quick report

Cracking
isolated
Collapsing
widespread

Snow Pit 1/2 way between the rescue cache and lunch rocks - roughy east aspect: 210-230 cm snow 2ft finger hard wind slab over 6 in unconsilodated 45cm below surface failed at about 6 hand taps (forgot to write that down) There is also a roughly 2cm layer of facets just below the unconsolidated snow and just above the old thick rain crust . Probing suggests at least 2 additional weak layers below the rain crust but I was unable to dig below the rain crust.

Avalanche

Observed crown lines in left gully, center head wall and a skier trigger avalanche occurred while I dug carrying a snowboarder about 500 ft down Sluice. There is an excellent video of this taken by 2 skiers that descended Right Gully which I will encourage them to post.
