Quick report

Red Flags
Heavy Snowfall

Hand pits at 8000 feet on North aspects indicated shallow pack beneath the tree canopy, only 16 inches of loose grains on a pencil hard one inch base from October, no rime crust beneath the trees.

This hand pit near the last one but in an opening in the trees, deeper, about 24 inches deep, thin rime crust on surface. Consolidated into slabs with a facet crust sandwich between. Also has one-inch pencil-hard October base.

Decent riding in the Providence Canyon Forest.

Snowpack

Old snow was variable, loose grains beneath the canopy, rimed, deeper, and more consolidated in the openings.
