Quick report
We made it out for a quick tour after work on the east foothills. The snow was surprisingly good with very little wind affected areas. This was a surprise because we had major drifting around our house yesterday in the valley. Unfortunately, the extremely cold weather has already facets the new snow and the snow surface is well developed surface hoar. The cold surface hoar rode very slow like we had ice on the bottom of our boards but it was just the sharp snow crystals
We did not see any signs of recent avalanches but we were on mellow (<30 degrees) North facing terrain at or below 6000 feet.
