Snowpack

3-4" of new snow from this week over a mostly supportable 1F freeze melt crust on shaded aspects, localized cracking underfoot on partially solar effected slopes where near surface crust was weaker. Rounded polycrystals gave way to thin layers of slush where liquid water is pooling over harder layers. As expected we saw shedding of loose snow from around cliffs and rocks and by afternoon growing roller balls and skier initiated sloughing wet snow on steep slopes. Multiple glide cracks visible on nearly every ridgeline in various states: some appear visible again because shallow snow in the crack has recently melted out, others appear to have moved a little and provoked small wet slabs on surrounding slope.
