Quick report

Red Flags Comment

Saw a couple small, old dry loose and several old wet loose from yesterday. Today's activity was limited, generally confined to small rollerballs near rocks, in the sun at low elevations, etc. Did see 2 new D1 wet loose today, W facing ca. 10,000ft. Representative photo below.

Snowpack

Unfortunately, the wind did its work on the snow surface, particularly in the upper elevations and locations that didn't already have a melt-freeze crust. However, cornices were not as large and numerous as I was expecting and while we could find pockets of truly firm wind slab, most of the terrain seemed to still be soft slab or packed powder. Luckily, this made for turns that were still enjoyable even if they weren't blower. Mid-elevation west facing slopes in the trees skied smooth and creamy around 130pm.
