Snow from trailhead to summut, though snow depths didn't exceed 5" until about 5-5500 ft. 6-8 inches at ridgeline. Not much evidence of wind drifting. Snow is dry above 4000 ft and coehsionless, and generally consists of one layer that doesn't exceed surface roughness. Surface hoar in open areas above about 5000 feet, with the snow below faceting.

Snowpack
No melt-freeze crusts apparent in this area, which suggests none are present higher unless they formed earlier in October. Even then they are unlikely to exceed the surface roughness.
