Quick report

Variable conditions. Challenging travel. Tricky riding. Many elevations / aspects completely hammered by wind, freezing and thawing. Very challenging travel conditions . Using all the tools to get to the objectives. Ski crampons, ice axes, boot crampons. We were able to find some good snow to ride but it was few and far between and only found in the sheltered terrain where the wind and sun haven’t gotten to it yet. Noticeable 10-20 cm crusts found on all aspects depending on where the wind had been blowing. Some good pockets of very big and cold facets ranging between 20-40 cm gave us some good conditions to ride. Both the facets and the crusts we found worry me about the lack of bonding that coming storm snow will have. I would expect to see some interesting avalanche conditions if the storm produces. We spent more time traveling to objectives and checking conditions than we did actually riding the objectives but we had a great couple days in the mountains walking around on snow. I have added photos of the varying conditions we found while traveling.
