East aspect 8650 elevation ~220 cm deep Dug down around 1 pm to find a right side up snowpack with 6 inches of new fallen and wind loaded snow. Another 6 inches of snow to last surface during warm spell. The wind was really starting to blow and transport snow at this time. We dug to see what the buried persistent slab problem looked like on this slope. We couldn’t find evidence of this instability in the top 4 feet of the snowpack in this particular spot. Our first run skied great low density snow on the melt freeze layer on top. Went back for a second run to find the new snow already firming up and being transported to nearly every aspect. Another hour with that wind and snow and I imagine storm/wind slabs would be present and sensitive on most aspects.
