Short tour to Austin pass on AIARE 1. From 8am-1pm. Recent rain seemed to impact the first 6-12inches of the snowpack Observed runnels from the recent rainfall. Dug a pit in a wind loaded area of Austin Pass on a north facing slope. Found a mix of wet snow and crusts below 18in of new on top. Our layer of concern was right below the 18in of new. Had multiple CTH/M Q2 @ 120 (170 height snowpack). Our tests were failing at the interface between the snow from Thursday and the snow from this weekend.
