Weather

Moderate westerly winds transporting snow above treeline. Past 24 hours winds were southerly veering northwesterly. New snow 24 hours averaged 8 inches. Morning light snow showers. 10:00 am clearing skies and cold temperatures.

Snowpack

None of the recent avalanches were large (>D2). Fresh wind slabs were deposited on lee aspects, ridge crests and cross-loaded gullies and terrain depressions. The alpine zones were wind effected. Exposed ridges were scoured and lee slopes looked loaded with a visual wind "crust?".
