Quick report
A few photos from around the pass 3-4pm today. Skied a quick dusk lap at West. Boot-top ski-penetration, pole penetration almost to the ground. Beginning to turn upside down. Grain forms had a lot of sleet and graupel, occasionally as large as 3mm. Ski-quality exceeded our low expectations. Better coverage, supportive cascade-concrete, and an almost-moguled throughway made the skiing kinda fun. Did not touch ground even once on 107mm skis. Here's hoping the Summit track-packs part of West tonight, as originally advertised for today, to preserve the snow through the rain. Snowplay was the most popular I've seen; 906 was parallel-parked extensively, filling the entire northbound lane to the double-yellow line.
