Quick report

Travel conditions varied from good in open areas, to challenging with thinner HST over slick crust in heavily treed areas. Lots of wood, open water, and other shrapnel to be avoided! Recent storm snow was not wind affected in areas I travelled in. No signs of instability.

Snowpack

HS ranged from 20cm at end of plowed road to ~85cm at 6200' in open areas. In tree cover between 4,000-6,000' HS was generally around 60cm. Structure between 4,000-6,000 was quite uniform, while thickness of individual layers varied a bit. On average: 0-20: RG/Fcxr 1F 20-40: FC 4F-F at upper boundary under crust Melt freeze crust (12/23): 4F 40-60 (or surface): Recent HST, F, varied a bit Surface form: PP and SH in favored locations, not widely observed.
