Quick report
I did not perform any snowpack tests but noted the weak facets located in the bottom 25 cm under a stiff 5 cm ice crust. Something to take note of as more storms add snow in the months ahead. At this time there was not much snow available for wind transport should we continue to not see additional snowfall.

Moderate temperatures at 8000’ with sun effect on S - SW slopes in the area I traveled. Appears that strong winds occurred the past few days creating small isolated wind slabs on N - E aspects near ridge lines.
Snowpack
Dug a small pit 88 cm HS, E aspect @ 7750’. - 150’ below ridge line in a protected shaded area. Noted a rain affected layer from 50 - 35 and a thinner ice layer from 30 - 25 cm from top of snowpack. Bottom 25 cm was fist depth hoar to the ground. See photos.
