Quick report

Cracking
specific

We interacted with mainly east and south aspects above 6000 feet. On east aspects terrain was wind loaded and sensitive to the weight of a human on the south aspect. Snow was starting to get saturated, but the skiing was still good. Won’t be surprised if we start seeing a crust form on southerly aspects. Also dug down a meter in the snow pack to find the JDL almost 80 cm down covered by recent storm snow that was right side up. Still weak snow underneath the JDL. CTV on the weak snow could not cut through the 10 cm thick crust to perform an ECT.

Avalanche

Noticed a skier triggered avalanche in white river canyon and our test slopes on the same aspect were releasing with ease.
