Widespread cracking and collapsing was most severe in windy areas. Cracking and collapsing was widespread, though most common and severe when crossing snow stiffened by wind.

Morning weather was clear and cold, with moderate winds. Clouds rolled in later in the day.
Snowpack
New snow remains soft in sheltered areas, but stiffened snow ranged from soft, sculped forms, to pencil-hard slab that could completely support one's weight. Large amounts of broken debris from trees strewn across the snow is just another reminder of the severity of recent winds, and suggests the extent of wind effect and potential wind slab formation in unusual areas to match.

In alignment with Ben's observation in this same area yesterday, slides were large relative to their paths. While many of the Titus Lake chutes have avalanched, there remains a significant amount of avalanche terrain, of similar aspect, elevation and slope angle, that could still release.
