The avalanche occurred during a period of heavy precipitaion (rain) and above freezing temperatures.
The natural avalanche crossed both lanes of the highway and deposited aroud four feet of snow on the inside lane. Logan canyon was closed this morning so crews could clean up the mess, but it was reopened around 8:00 since rainfall had diminished and temperatures were dropping.
