Quick report
Toured a bit towards Baby Ruth and along the sunny side of the mine buildings. Observed 2~5 mm of surface hoar along the way. There are no signs of instability along the route and no obvious red flags. The weather is clear and colder than yesterday, with an S breeze between 5 and 15 mph in the morning. The whole group dug a few instability pits, with some noticeable results below. Elevation of 3477' on a 35/E aspect with a slope Angle of 37. HS=67 CT11 Q3 57 down, ECTP12 41 down ECTP12 42 down All breaking in the chained facets right below the last crust just above the surface of the ground. The snowpack is shallow, with a poor structure but not so strong, a mix of crusts and soft snow not creating a good bond for a strong slab yet. Although, this didn't feel too "slabby" we have surprising results with high energy. We traveled very cautiously as we still found a lot of rocks exposed or really near the surface. The rest of the groups found different pit results, with less energy in their locations.
