Woodworth glacier

Quick report

Our party of 6 skied on SE, NW, N, NE aspects 25-55 degrees between 3500-5900' on April 9 and April 11 around Wortmans and Woodworth glaciers. We did not experience any red flags. The SE aspects started to get solar effect on April 9 after the snowfall, and were quite solar effected below 5000' by April 11. All north-ish aspects retained good quality snow. Sluff ran undesirably fast on a 42-47 degree N slope 3300-4300', and snow-covered heli tracks were very firm. Deep facets were well preserved on steep N facing slopes between 4300-5500'. Snow quality was good above 3000' on April 9, and that level raised to 3900' on April 11. Thinner slightly wind effected snow above 5500' on open glaciers. I saw an avalanche had been triggered on Treasure Island on April 9 N face at 2650' running down to 2350'. I heard 2nd hand that it was remote triggered from above by a sled at 2700', after it climbed up that slope - pic attached. Crown looks approx 1' deep and 500' wide. Saw an old crown at 5800' NW facing, approx 3' deep; possibly cornice fall? The heli's were observed also targeting many steep NW-NE aspects on those same days. Observed around 6 wet loose avalanches actively shedding off steep rocky south faces during those days.
