Red Flags Comment

Not many red flags besides the cross loaded gullies at upper and mid elevations

we skied the trees down to the road. Did a snow pit just off the north side of cooley pass, in a fairly large clearing. The snow was very well bonded with no visible layers. The compression test surpassed 30 hits with no sign of collapse. In the picture i could pry the whole column off with no weak layers giving way.

Snowpack

Instability Comment

most of the snow from the last storm has either settled or blown away. Most of the ridges are very firm wind slab, snowmobile track riding right on the edge of some with no cracking or collapsing.

Snow on North aspects was dense loose among the trees, east through south west aspects are wind crust, melt freeze crust. Upper elevation slopes are wind swept ridges with cross loaded gullies.
