The crowns appeared to be storms slabs from the 18th during the heavy precip and potentially released naturally during that afternoons warm up to wet precip. The connected nature of them makes me think they potentially released on buried surface hoar.

Touring up towards broken top via Todd lake I observed widespread connected crowns lookers right of the Crag of Doom.
