Quick report
Weather: Started around noon in mostly sunny conditions with a light breeze. A few brief snow showers came through around 3pm with little accumulation. Observed strong flagging in Turnagain on the drive south but didn't observe much in the summit lake zone. Dug a pit around 3300 ft. Around 40cm of recent snow from the week at this elevation. While some of that may have been wind loading there were no characteristics of a wind slab observed. At the old snow/new snow interface was a firm melt-freeze crust that was finger to pencil hardness. ECT yielded no results. Below the crust layer was very homogeneous at 1 finger to pencil hardness, seemed to be refrozen corn/ formerly wet spring snow. New snow was about 6-8" in depth around tree line. Rollerballs were observed later in the afternoon. The dog also accumulated 1-5" diameter snowballs on her belly as well. Overall stability seemed to be solid and new snow was well bonded in this area. Snow was bouncy and responsive.
