Quick report
Nasty conditions on the lower burned west side of Great Bear. Measured HS 85 at 5200'....thinner coverage than other areas, as it was last year (and maybe every year). W facing open slope had 3/4" to 1" thick crust which was mostly supportive, except for random spots where it would break, making skiing treacherous. Icy wind was picking up through the day, but nothing available for transport on top of the crust where I was.
