Went for a walk up to Red Pine Lake midday today. After we passed the bridge and began to head towards the lake we saw four or five fresh dry loose avalanches. Some of them had slab characteristics, very small crowns where they released from the steeper terrain above. I'm not too surprised because it was storm snow poorly bonded to the crusts. After we topped out at the lake we observed more of the same long running natural sluffs and very small slabs on the East facing terrain.

We had snow on and off throughout and at our high point, around 9600 at Red Pine Lake I observed an HST of about 15 cm. Winds were generally calm where we traveled and the sky was overcast. It felt like winter again which was quite nice.
