On a north aspect, snow conditions consisted of a crust at 5,000 feet and below, 1-2 feet of powder from 5-7,000 feet, and then a denser wind slab above 7,000 feet. Weather was mostly cloudy and warm with calm winds down low, but cool and windy up high with the wind actively transporting snow. In the wind-loaded snow, we observed a 12-inches or so of cracking at the tips of our skis. Did not proceed to the ridge top, choosing to avoid the steeper, wind-loaded terrain. Saw a small amount of old debris in the bottom of a chute, but otherwise did not see any recent avalanches. No collapses as we traveled. Nothing moved on a handful of short and steep rollovers in the bottom half of the bowl.
