Beautiful day to walk in the mountains. Took the left overs that were available from what seemed to be a busy Sunday in the Source Lake area. With a massive inversion in place, getting up out of the valley was the best bet for warmer weather. Made a quick trip up to the Thumbtack with no signs of instability or the effects of this weekends easterlies until getting out of the trees. Snow stuck in them making a wonderful afternoon scene. A dense wind slab had formed at around terrain features above treeline and provided an example of what more exposed slopes will look like. Felt the 12/30 crust around 150 cm below the surface at 5100’.
