Quick report

The general low snow coverage provided an opportunity to walk the Snow Lake Trail to the Snow Lake Divide and assess overall conditions in the Alpental Valley. Last week's historic rainfall significantly reduced snow depth on all aspects and elevations. Consistent snow remains limited to mid- and upper-elevation, north facing terrain. With continued warm temperatures and upper elevation rain, coverage may continue to diminish.

Low clouds and fog hovered in the Alpental Valley. There were short periods of rain, and a light northerly wind blew at the divide. Temperatures were well above freezing.

Snowpack

South aspects are largely snow free, with isolated patches near 5,000 feet. North facing terrain holds the best remaining snow, albeit patchy and inconsistent up to about 4,500 feet, becoming more continuous above.
