Headed up the couloir on the NW buttress of Mt Athabasca on 24 May. Found what appeared to be a storm slab (there wasn’t a lot of wind effect and it seemed like an area that was spin-drifted a lot) that I didn’t like and that was quite dense and reacted moderately to a hand shear. The terrain doesn’t see a lot of sun as it’s north facing with a big cliff to cast a shadow. Just saw the ramp MIN so thought I’d share this as well.
