Outside of the advisory area but wanted to share as it caught us off guard. We felt fortunate for our timing. Additionally we had considered that slope generally benign and discussed using some of it for our approach.

Winds were pretty strong this morning with visible active loading, but generally tapered throughout the day. Sun was strong but temps stayed cold with winds and snow surfaces remained cold throughout the day.

As we approached the summit via broken snow and talus, we noticed a crown and debris off the summit face extending the whole slope that was not visible earlier as we worked toward the face. The debris pile showed hard slab and likely had released within 30 or so minutes. We saw goats on the summit at this time. We found their prints on the summit ridge and saw the tracks cross bed surface. So, that was our best guess for the trigger.
