Quick report

Experienced stable, quality skiing in the Essex area (as a previous Middle Fork observer noted: sporty, but doable below 4500') •Handpits revealed the rain crust (11/23) extends to ~7000' with varying thickness throughout the elevation bands. Fortunately, this rain crust bridges the early season sharks and is laying the MF alder down to rest for the foreseeable future (something to be Thankful for tomorrow) •Winds were moderate (SW) in the upper elevations however we experienced no shooting cracks or windslab along ridgeline •Quality riding to 6000' in our location before coverage became questionable •No formal pits dug; skied SE slopes between 30-35*(7200-6000) •HS: ~120cm (7200') ~40cm (4000')
