Temperatures were in the teens in the morning, sky was clear, wind was calm, but in the afternoon, solar radiation increased.
Snowpack
We dug on a Northeast aspect at 7670 feet elevation (22 degree slope) on the approach to broken top crater. We were investigating the facets just below the most recent rain event (11-22). Facets were 1 mm, fist hard. The rain crust was 5 cm and very supportable.
Avalanche
Small natural loose wet observed in the afternoon
