Similar surface conditions as to how things have been on Sunburst, tough travel in the trees. Conditions improved above treeline and higher where ~10" of soft snow laid on top of a hard melt-freeze crust. Lots of snow available for transport in this area. Throughout the day the interface of the melt-freeze crust and the surface snow was our biggest concern. Widespread 4-5mm surface hoar. Weather was calm and overcast.

Observed two natural slab avalanches that looked to have occurred after snowfall ended during the last storm (12/12?). While skiing a north facing chute of Superbowl, skier observed a 5-6' long shooting crack (10" deep) and heard a small collapse. Later in the day, while skinning up a west face on Cornbiscuit, near the ridge we observed a crack shoot out a few feet in front of skis, similar set up as the previous crack and collapse. This was a ~8-10" thick soft slab over a hard melt-freeze crust.
