Headed up Mats Basin around 3pm. There was an obvious graupel layer between the new and old snow. Snow was coming down at around 3 inches an hour and sliding fast on the graupel layer. We were able to trigger dry loose avalanches on rollovers. The gully next to the exit was littered with slides.
