Snowpack
Snow Pit Data: N-NE (8 degrees), 10, 300' elevation, <25 degree slope, Compression Test = CTEx1 and CTVx1 (first CT failed on isolation, 2nd failed on first tap from wrist), ECTNx2.
Warm-moist top layer with cold snow just under the surface made for tricky skinning today without globbing. Ski penetration was less than 10 cm on supportable dense wind compacted snow.
Bottom of snowpit still presenting with large faceted grains, with new evidence of rounding and sintering. The weather the next few days will be even warmer. We will keep an eye out on how it effects the bottom of the snowpack.
